Jalan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa
Kg Jay Setia.
Near the newly built Times Square. Telephone Number: 233 5642
Great value for money Sungkai Buffet at Axtivo Café.
Axtivo Café is having their Ramadhan Special Buffet for only $6.90 per pax, and you have the option of having dim sum at $1.50 per basket (choose any 3 dimsum, you’re allowed to mix and match).

You would not expect such prices when you stepped into the café, which boasts a cosy fully airconditioned modern kopi-tiam ambience. The boss himself is very into art and has displayed various handicrafts throughout the café.
 Hand made insects
Ants carved from toothpicks, the boss say it takes at least 2 hours to make just one ant! The one above is one of his masterpiece.
More of the boss’s expert handicraft.
Ants trying to fight a mini chick. Another one of the boss’s work.
Meet the patient and skillful man behind those handicrafts. Smile! You’re on LFHW!
On to the food, Axtivo café serves hawker food style cuisine, dishes mostly from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. They offer different dishes everyday.
 Beef Rendang…hmmm….
 Nasi Lemak (with Pandan Rice)
 Seafood Tum Yum Gong
Guangzhou Style Porridge, served with peanuts, sliced sotong and crispy beehoon, a very heart-warming family dish.
Ahhhh ….. Singapore Laksa. Served with prawns, hardboiled eggs and taufu pok. I added more of the sambal and daun kesum (laksa leaves) for extra ooopmhh factor!
Banana Bubur Cha Cha. Another hawker style dessert you should try.
An assortment of cakes, fruits and jelly were also part of the buffet.
The buffet is inclusive of coffee and tea. Can you believe all that costs only $6.90 per person?
If you’re in a mood for dimsum, Axtivo has a variety of dimsums available at $1.50 for 3 pieces (you can mix and match what you like such as two siew mai and one spring roll).
 Shrimp Crystal Dumpling
 Chicken and Prawn Siew Mai
Jade Crystal Siew Mai (More Prawns)
These are just some of the dimsums available for order at Axtivo.

Yuummm… I purposely chose Kitaro Restaurant because I simply love their Japanese food.. I can't remember how many times already I've came over to this restaurant and do mind that the restaurant is still new pretty new and crowd traffic is picking up every now and then. But the great thing about Kitaro is that the restaurant will never compromise for quality and these have been most of the feedbacks from my peers.
You may have read on my blog or in newspapers but if you haven't experienced Kitaro, then I suggest you should. Even our own food blogger Thanis is wrestling himself to try out Kitaro for LFHW coverage, because he loves Kitaro food. So, boss of Kitaro, if you are reading this, *hint hint LOL*
Anyway, this is my first pit stop for my Sungkai of 2010 and what a great way to break fast with kurma and manisan waiting for you. And thank you to my buddies, @lilmopiko and @wobbly_sphinx for the company.
So what's the special deals at Kitaro Restaurant? Well, it's using the "All-You-Can-Eat" off the menu (selected items but aplenty) for only BND 22. That itself is a great deal and one hint, do take your time and enjoy your dishes and don't rush :) Even the head waitress kept reminding us to take our time *lol*
Sophia fell in love with one of the dishes - Shime Saba (mackerel) and we ended up ordering four plates of those. Simply fresh mackerel and great value for money. Do refer to the pictures for some of the items we chose from the menu.
Personally for me, I'm more into Kitaro's Shake Shasimi (salmon) which is the BOMB!!! And I ordered the Tempura Moriawase (mixed) and also the Softshell crab. The garlic rice (yakimeshi) is highly recommended as well.
So all-in-all, the BND 22 is great value for money and I was kinda surprised to see such a crowd on the first day of Sungkai. Remember, you can order as much as you can but do remember, not to waste either. Otherwise, you will be charged for wastage ;) For bookings, you can contact 245 7373 or you can drop by Kitaro Restaurant, located behind The Centerpoint Hotel.
I told you the deal is pretty good
The "manisan" is a nice touch before breaking your fast
Good appetizer to start of with - Kueh Melayu
The garlic rice was pretty tasty
The chefs were pretty busy that night
One great tip before using your chopsticks
My favorite dish of the lot - Salmon Sashimi
These mackerels were yummy - we ordered more
 The Chuka Wakame Seaweed
The mixed tempura is also in the menu
The soft shell crab.. Me likessss…
It was quite a crowd last night
I wasn't given enough attention from the ladies :p

Feeling like having Italiano food?? Well, there's one in Regent Square, Kiulap. It has only opened for four months actually and business has been consistent since day one. If you are lost, it is just located in front of Excapade at Regent Square. This is one of the restaurants where you can enjoy great quality and authentic Italian food. Why? Because they are managed by two Italian chefs from Da Mammamia Pizzeria - Chef Luciano and Chef Alfonso.
A few days ago, the members of the press and bloggers were invited for a Sungkai buffet outing at Da Mammamia to try the appetizers and Italian dishes available at Da Mammamia. I didn't manage to try all the dishes because I was pretty full half way but it was the first time that I tried the Pizza Al Cioccolato (Pizza dough with nutela spread…. yummy) and it's one of the popular dishes at Da Mammamia.
During the interview, Chef Luciano briefed that he doesn't like to do buffet for the Sungkai period because he believes in delivering quality food especially when it comes to Italian cuisine. Everything must be prepared straight from the kitchen so the food served will be warm and fresh. He said one of the challenges is to source for his ingredients in Brunei but he will not compromise on quality.
So since they don't provide buffet, Da Mammamia has giving special discount for dine-in costumers…
If you spend below, $40 you will get 15% discount;
if you spend $41-$60, you will get 20% discount;
if you spent $61-$100, you will get 25% discount
and if you spend above $100, you will get 30% discount. So call Da Mammamia for your bookings at 223 3755. The promotion at Da Mammamia Chef Alfonso holding one of the pizzas It can get busy at Da Mammamia The overview look of Da Mammamia Foccacia Rossa Salmon Carpaccio Insalata Mamma Mia (chicken salad) Calamari This is my favourite … simple and tasty Angel and Boon Hui enjoying their dinner Aliya holding a Family Pizza (enough to feed 3 pax) It was gone in matter of minutes Crayfish Seafood Marina.. One of the best She loves to pose, doesn't she? Creamy Risotto What goes at the kitchen Chef Luciano was a busy man that day The creamy chicken One of the desserts The popular Pizza Al Cioccolato (Pizza dough with nutela) Maurina taking photos with her phone Tracy was pretty full after a few dishes Patrons enjoying their dinner at Da Mammamia
